Small Capitals is an eclectic mix of styles and genres spanning from saucy jazz numbers with a full band to upbeat indie electronic pop. Diverse in sound, the tracks are united by a colorful and introspective sense of storytelling. In a previous feature on two songs from the album, music review collective Airpate noted that “Jordana Lilly usually finds a way to bridge the pop and R&B worlds with her music...with heartfelt lyrics coupled with a sultry, passionate and soulful vocal delivery, the singer/songwriter crafts songs that are vibey yet emotive.” Lilly’s vocal and piano performances on her original songs are accompanied by Jason Aguja, who as producer, engineer, and instrumentalist, is the other main hand on the album.
